My Trip to China

STOP!!! Before you read my blog, i want to make a BIG apology: sorry about the date because i cannot type my blog in China, so i am only going to make a summary of my trip.

OK YOU CAN CONTINUE READING NOW.
(IF you felt that reading the letter above was quite useless then... SORRY AGAIN FOR WASTING YOUR PRECIOUS TIME!!)

H!! It's Jesse again! i guess you've been waiting for ages for my next blog right?? If yes, then what are you waitin' for huh??! Go on and start reading!!! If no, then maybe you were not ready for this story yet so why don't you wait until next year then read my blog?!? But it doesn't matter and i don't care so let's get it started... LETS TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!!!

We were at the airport and i was SO excited to meet Sean & Tim at Kunming, Yunnan, China. But i was also scared of being airsick. The time was 0030 hrs (I'm just guessing, anyway, i think that was the time when we were having our midnight supper at the T3 Kopitiam).
Finally we were boarding the plane!! i was quite excited about our flight and i told myself not to eat anything on the plane. Besides, i already had 1 charsiew bao and 1/2 cup of Milo at the Kopitiam. Luckily they had sick bags on the plane. Just to tell you if you're interested, we were playing computer in the airport while waiting to board the plane.
YAY!!! We're landing at Kunming!! the temperature was only 15 degrees Celsius and we were only wearing 2 T-shirts but we didn't care much until... BRRRRRRRR!!! It was like in a refrigerator out there!! i held the sick bag firmly in my hands. Quite cold, i got out of the plane and ran as fast as i could to the bus (you see, China is not a very high-tech place, so after we got out of the plane, instead of going into the "tube" thingy in Singapore, we had to board a bus to take us to the main terminal. i guess that's because the airport field is bigger and the airport building is further away).
By now we were wearing 3 shirts. When we arrived at the airport, the time was about 0735 hrs so Jakin and i had breakfast (by the way, i didn't vomit) which was the food that we didn't eat on the plane, but we had quite little. And of course, we met Sean & Tim and they brought us to McDonald's to have a 2nd breakfast there.
OK, so you've seen the beginning, now for the real mission: Destination Guizhou.
After we touched down on Guiyang, we took a bus to a motel (??) and spent 1 night there. Zzz.....
Now I'm not gonna say the whole trip 'cause i don't have much time, if that's fine with u...
For the first few days, we took a lot of buses to many villages, and it was quite boring and butt-aching too!! And u know what was so scary about the buses? They drove fast!! EVEN ON MOUNTAINS!!!!!!!!!!! and whats more, they'd either crash into the side of fall down the cliff into a farm, village or even a lake!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, so let's forget about this bus rubbish and continue...
Now I'll skip everything and go to the last village......
Yes, its the last village we're going to and i just have to hold it a bit more.
When we arrived at the village that night, we gathered all the children in a house and had a small gathering and then we went home and slept..
The next day was similar to last night: we gathered all the children in the morning and had a small gathering Blah blah.. etc etc etc......
Until after lunch i was starting to get sick and i did vomit! The next day was a Christmas sermon and of course i didn't take part because i was sick remember? Still everyone prayed for me and i ate a lot of medicine and the next day we went back to Guiyang and stayed in the same "motel" for one night again.
The next day, i was still sick and we went back to Kunming in the afternoon and we went for dinner at a restaurant and i vomited some out again!! (by now we figured out that when i eat or drink i will vomit it out again) After that we went to Sean & Tim's house which is still the same as the house that we went last year but it changed quite a bit though but i don't why either. It just looked different. Anyway we finally had our bath in China and the water was so cold that i was ffrreezziinngg!!! Luckily, the had a heater and i dressed myself beside it. i also discovered that i had become a lot skinnier than last time! i guess it's because i vomited everything out and i wore a lot of layers (i.e. 5 layers of clothes) so i didn't know i became skinnier during the trip! And you should know, we spent the night at their house.
The next day, i was STILL sick so i could not go out and play with the others. i felt so lonely. Actually i wanted to go to the giant indoor playground like last year and now we all couldn't. The other boys went to play downstairs with Uncle Richard, mummy and daddy went to buy presents and souvenirs and Auntie Jenny stayed home to take care of me.
After dinner, it was time to leave and i was quite sad to leave my friends and go back home but i still had to though so they sent us to the airport and we said goodbye and i was Happy to hear that they're coming back in Jan '09 but they'll be back in China in Mar'09.
When we got back to Singapore, Yeye came to pick us up and we went to KK Women's and Children's Hospital to see what was wrong with me (and i had dehydration), the time was about 0450 hrs.
So daddy stayed in the hospital with me and the rest went home. The doctor gave me some kind of drink that i should drink 30ml from it every 15 min for 8 times and when i finished everything without vomiting, i could go home. But first, she put some kind of medicine into my butt.
After drinking, i didn't vomit anything and i was so happy, the time was about 0800 hrs and we went to a cab but there was surcharge as it was the early morning peak hours again so we waited until 9:00 a.m. when there was no more surcharge.
After we went home, we rested for a while and everything was back to normal. Just to inform you now, every time i eat or drink i will big a long one and another. Thank God!!:)

Thank you for reading my journal, but there's one more thing: I'd like to say my thanksgivings:
  1. Thank God for the good weather
  2. and that we didn't get sick (only me, of course)
  3. that we had enough strength to climb the mountains
  4. and last of all that God protected us from the police.

Of course i learnt something and this time i learnt that God is always there for us and provides our needs and he cares for us. And the thing i could not forget the most was Sean & Tim's house. That's all for now, see you next time (sometime later) on my blog!!!:)
